The Ariat World Series of Team Roping welcomes APEX Next Evolution as the official energy drink.
APEX Next Evolution is an elite outdoor supplement company founded by a team who are passionate about outdoor sports and health and spends their time hunting, fishing, roping, working, and playing outdoors.
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (April 1, 2023): The team at APEX Next Evolution, a supplement and energy drink company based out of Utah, has joined forces with the Ariat World Series of Team Roping for the 2023 season. Although a company like APEX falls into the category of "non-endemic" sponsors which is a fancy way of saying "non-traditional western", the entire staff at APEX has deep roots in the team roping world and everyone on the team knows all about competing at WSTR events.
"My husband (Trent Cloward, who was heeling for Wyatt Cloward) actually won the 8.5 Finale in Vegas last year," Said Mandy Cloward, APEX Chief Marketing Officer. "That's what makes this partnership so great. Many of us on the APEX team have spent years in the nutrition and supplements industry and now we get to combine that knowledge with our passion for team roping!"
APEX officially launched in February of 2023 after literal years of research, product development, and testing.
"We are all busy, right? With kids, work, horses, hunting, and just daily life." laughs APEX CEO, Mike McLean who spent the last two decades running some of the largest nutraceutical companies in the world. "Instead of pounding coffee or off-the-shelf energy drinks, which I'm just as guilty of as anyone, we wanted to create a great tasting, clean, healthy alternative that could give ropers that little pick-me-up we all need while cutting out the sugars, cheap ingredients, and crashes that come with your everyday canned drinks."
While APEX is working hard to gain traction as the roper's go-to energy drink, it is very apparent that their primary focus is cultivating personal relationships with WSTR ropers. All of the founders of Apex are long-time associates, who have worked and played together for years.
"Mike and I met through our partner Chad." Said Clay Hill, Chief Relationship Officer of APEX. "Mike was looking for a deer hunt and Chad gave Mike my information. He booked a hunt with me 7 years ago and the rest is history. We didn't know each other from Adam and after a few days of hunting Mike and I just started talking about creating supplements for families that primarily live outdoors. Through these relationships, we got to know Mandy and our other partners. Using our personal relationships, we talked to Mandy about the best way to launch and I was old friends with Lory Merritt with the WSTR and those friendships are what led us here today."
